Blog 6 bathroom and garage

Here is the back of the garage. We have dug out part of the ground to add a new bathroom off the garage so that there will be access to an outside bathroom from the pool. Here is what it looked like before with the old garage.

Here is the new space with no garage. You can see the addition of the new bathroom (it is in green). There will be a door added beside the window in the bathroom.

The new floor for the garage has been poured.
The garage walls have started.
We decided to do a pitched roof which is cheaper than the hip roof which was there before. I liked the
hip roof better

The new bathroom and now a new garage from the back.
This is inside new bathroom. We built a  stepped down wall. This half wall is separating the toilet (which will be on the front left) from the outside door(which is on the back left). The window that you see was supposed to be on the back left side of this room. Unfortunately that wall is below grade so the window could not be put there. Since I had already paid for the window,  we put it here beside the door. It will be in front of a sink, so the sink will be a bowl on a low chest so the chest does not cover the window.

Stay tuned for roof ideas

Blog 5
Our new windows arrived! It is amazing how much it has changed the space.
Here is the old living room.

Here is the new living room with the raised roof, tray ceiling, new windows and french door.

Here is pool side living room wall and windows with beam removed.

Here is pool side with new windows. Notice the space between the 2 sets of new windows. That is where the beam was. The 9 inch wall between the 2 windows is the support that is holding up the ceiling beam that is now 10 feet up in the ceiling.

Our wonderful contractors came to us and said, "we are 3 weeks ahead of schedule and $18,000 under budget. WOW!
So we decided to enlarge the garage so that we can have a 2 car garage. Here is the current
1 1/2 car garage.

Here is the path on the left side of the garage. Notice the sunken in garbage cans in the the ground and the wrought iron fencing.
Here is the garage with the fencing removed.

No more garage!

Master bed room
We decided to add a small master bedroom to the back of the house. We used the old master for a 4th bedroom and our new bathroom. Here is the start of the master.
You are looking at the old master bedroom french doors on the left that looked out into the back yard.

This will be the french doors looking toward the pool, with 2 side windows.
This is looking from inside the old master towards the new addition. Standing here in this hall, we realized we needed to add a window since it is so dark.
bedroom walls
Here they have laid out where the new bathroom walls will be in the old master bedroom.
This will be the toilet on the left and my closet.
This is looking into Michaels closet. There will be a linen closet on the right and the walk in shower on the left.
Now they are starting to put a roof on the master. Do we vault it or have a pitched roof? That is Tal standing in our bedroom.
The walk in shower with a half wall is beginning to take shape. It is between Michaels and my closets. That is bedroom number 4 behind the shower.
This is the roof of the master. These are the studs of the bathroom with the master bed room on the left.
This is looking out where the french doors will be toward the pato/deck and pool.

That is the start of our master bed room.
