Blog 28
Things are slowly happening. Can you see? We got black wrought iron handrails on the master porch and the back deck. I am standing inside the master bedroom looking toward the deck off the living room.
Here is the rail off the master porch. We are waiting on the fence to be put up so that we can block  the house below us.The telephone pole will go away too.
Here is the added on pool bathroom with the stacked wall. The toilet will be on the left side of the wall. That door goes outside to the courtyard and pool.
They have started putting tile down in guest bath. That is the walk in shower on the right. It will have the blue grey penny tiles in a strip around the shower. see next photo.
Grey Blue pennies

This piece of furniture below goes in this room with a copper sink cut into the top and granite on top of the furniture. The furniture color matches the pennies. Although it does not look like it in this photo.

Here is a close up where I have tried to make it old looking. I will continue to work on this once it is put together.
Here is the den with the first coat of paint on it.
Here is one of the bedrooms painted in a toupee color. We left the wall safe which will need to be finished and trimmed. I just hope we can find the combination to the safe.
We have the built in around the fire place. That huge open space on the left of the fire place is for the TV!
Here is the fire place with the new black granite.

We have a move in date... May1st.
YEAH!!!!

Blog 27 Wallpaper

I am trying to find a fun geometric patterned wallpaper for the master toilet room. It is a small room with a window. The back wall is only 35 inches across. Here is the room.

I went to the paint store to look at wall paper. Michael said he would go with me. I was surprised and said are you sure you want to go? He said yeah, I'll go with you. We walked into the paint store and I sat down in front of the pile of books. Michael looked at me and said "You mean we have to look through all these books?" I said yes, what did you think we were going to do?  He said I'm not looking through these books. He said he was not sure what he was expecting but looking through books was not what he thought we were going to do. He left me there and he came back later and picked me up.
Here are some of the paper options I am thinking about. The floor tile is sitting beside the paper so you can see what the floor will look like.

It is so hard to decide. This was narrowed down after spending about 4 hours in a store in Asheville and a store in Morganton looking through books. Please call me if you  have experience with wall paper in small places.

blog26 Moulding and baseboards

They have started putting on baseboard and moulding. Minor problems noted.
Do you see the problems???

Moulding above the door is too low in photo above. It does not match the window moulding.

The 2 photos above are of the living room wall looking out towards the mountains. The corner moulding does not match. The installer cut off the corner to make it fit. We will see what we will do about it.
Here is the crown added to the kitchen cabinets. These are the cabinets for the double ovens and refrigerator.
Here is the cook top and cabinets on either side.
Here is the pantry, with crown on top. I painted the backs of the cabinets with a blue color.
Here is my master closet. This cabinet is for my shoes. The base on the right with have a counter on top.
This is in my closet. This will be my makeup desk in the corner.

Next ... wall paper for the toilet room.

Blog 25 Kitchen cabinets/ Footings for out side

The kitchen cabinets have arrived. This is the wall for the refrigerator and double oven.

Here is the corner cabinet with sink basin under the window.

We have decided on the shape of the out side covered porch and the retaining wall shape. They will be made of block walls that can be covered with stone or stucco.

The concrete was poured today.
