The masons have started on the front steps. The old steps are on the right. We are making the steps wider, see the new on on the left? The hand rail will not be in the middle it will be on the left side of the new steps.
That is the garage on the left. They are adding a new retaining wall.
Here is the same wall. I am standing in the driveway and looking toward the garage. The wall is higher and covers more space than I wanted.
They want to stop wall here. To me it seems crazy to stop the wall here. The wall needs to connect to the upper wall on the street. They agreed and will step the wall up and continue it up the side of the driveway. Since we have this wall on the side of the driveway we probably will have to put a curved wall on the other side of the driveway!
Notice the stamped concrete above? It is cracked because of all the big trucks. Looks like we have to pour a new driveway. It actually works better because now it can be sloped correctly away from the house.
Here is the front court yard. They will start on this retaining wall too. It will be made of the same block as the wall by the driveway.
Our granite comes this week!
